WWE taped the August 28, 2014 WWE SmackDown episode from the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California. Here are WWE SmackDown spoilers. WWE SmackDown * SmackDown kicks off with Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt. Reigns wins by disqualification when Erick Rowan and Luke Harper attack him. The Wyatt Family beats Reigns down until Big Show and Mark Henry make the save. There were some people in the crowd upset because Bray didn’t mention Ontario in the intro to his entrance. * Seth Rollins defeated Rob Van Dam. * Paige defeated Emma. After the match, AJ Lee came out with a box of chocolates. This leads to Paige spitting a piece of candy back at Emma but AJ picks it up and eats it. * Tonight’s main event is changed to a six-man match.
* Rusev defeated Jack Swagger after Bo Dallas caused interference. Bo attacked Swagger after the match. * Jey Uso defeated Stardust. After the match, Stardust and Goldust beat down The Usos. * Sheamus defeated Damien Sandow as The Miz again. The real Miz runs from Sheamus after the match but Dolph Ziggler comes out and throws him back in the ring. Miz dodges a Brogue Kick and runs through the crowd. * Roman Reigns, Big Show and Mark Henry defeated The Wyatt Family in the main event. The babyfaces pose to end SmackDown. Dark Matches * R-Truth defeated Fandango. * Big E and Kofi Kingston defeated Heath Slater and Titus O’Neil. Xavier Woods was at ringside with Big E and Kofi, who worked as babyfaces. WWE Superstars Results We are in Anaheim, California and your announcers are Tom ‘with my favorite announce partner’ Philips and Renee ‘Poutine Power’ Young. Match Number One: Adam Rose versus Curtis Axel Axel pushes Rose away and has something to say to Adam. Rose with a waist lock into a side head lock. Rose with a shoulder tackle. Axel tries for a hip toss but Rose blocks it and Rose with a hip toss and arm drag into an arm bar. Axel with a knee to the midsection followed by forearms across the bridge of the nose. Rose sends Axel into the corner and he kicks Axel. Rose with mule kicks in the corner. Axel with a running knee to the head. Axel with kicks in the corner and the referee warns Axel. Axel with more kicks followed by a drop kick. Axel with boots to the eyes followed by an elbow drop for a near fall. Axel pulls at Rose’s mouth and then he applies a reverse chin lock. Rose gets to his feet and he pucnehs Axel. Rose with a snap mare and spinebuster. Rose with a running forearm and back elbow. Axel with an Irish whip but he runs into an elbow. Rose with a head scissors take down and Rose with the Slice into the corner. Rose goes for the Party Foul but Axel sends Rose into the turnbuckles. Rose avoids Axel in the corner and pulls Axel to the mat before hitting the Party Foul to get the three count. Winner: Adam Rose We go to commercial. We go to footage from WWE.com of Brie being asked about what had happened to her in the ring, but she is unable to say anything and she walks away. We go to commercial. Match Number Two: Fandango versus R Truth Fandango dances before locking up. Fandango with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Fandango dances some more and Truth wants to know what’s up. Fandango with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Truth with a hip toss and arm drags into an arm bar. Fandango with a knee to the midsection. Truth holds on to the ropes and then he shimmies for Fandango who charges at Truth. Truth sends Fandango over the top rope to the floor and we go to commercial. We are back and Truth punches Fandango in the corner and then he hops around before connecting with an uppercut and he gets a near fall. Fandango goes to the apron and Fandango punches Truth followed by an enzuigiri on the apron. Fandango punches and kicks Truth. Fandango chokes Truth in the ropes. Fandango with a back elbow and he gets a near fall. Fandango with a reverse chin lock. Truth with punches and an uppercut. Truth goes for a sunset flip and Fandango stays on his feet for a moment but Truth gets a near fall. Truth with clotheslines followed by a drop kick. Truth with a kick and he hits a sit out gourdbuster. Truth misses the scissors kick and Fandango with a kick and front face lock. Fandango with a chop but Truth with an O’Connor Roll but Fandango rolls through and gets the three count. Winner: Fandango We go to footage from John Cena versus Bray Wyatt on Raw. Match Number One: Konor and Viktor versus Two Guys WWE Did Not Care Enough to Mention in a Non Title Match Konor starts off with a slam and shoulder tackle. Viktor tags in and they hit a double shoulder tackle followed by a chop and European uppercut. Viktor with a back drop and he sends his opponent into the midsection of his partner. Konor tags in and they hit the Fall of Man for the three count. Winners: Konor and Viktor After the match, Viktor has a mic and he says in one week’s time, their new number one contenders will be determined. Will they really be contenders or just more victims? At NXT Takeover, it will be no different than each and every day. Konor says it will be Total Anni-YAH-lation. He says that they will rise. We are back and JoJo introduces the new General Manager of NXT, and it is . . . William Regal makes his way to the ring. William says that he has been fortunate enough to be at Full Sail since the beginning of NXT and it is an honour and a privilege to be named the new General Manager of NXT. William announces that on September 11th, at NXT Takeover, the main event will be for the NXT Championship. William says that he wants to announce the challenger so he asks the current NXT Champion Adrian Neville to come to the ring. Adrian congratulates Regal on his new job and he says that as an Englishman he is proud to see Regal as the new General Manager. He has a question for William. He wants to know who is next. William says that he has to think long and hard, but on September 11th . . . Tyson Kidd’s music interrupts William’s announcement and he makes his way to the ring. Tyson says that he graciously accepts and he is honored and humbled to be the number one contender. It is a fact that he will leave with the NXT Championship around his waist on September 11th. Tyler Breeze makes his way to the ring. Tyler wants to know if William is serious because this uggo doesn’t deserve a title shot. Everyone deserves a title shot ahead of Tyson, including his wife. Sami Zayn’s music plays and he joins the party to make William Regal’s decision more difficult (or easier). Sami says that Tyler is not right about a lot of things but he is right that there are more deserving people than Tyson Kidd and more deserving people than Tyler Breeze and that is Sami Zayn. Adrian says that he knows who he wants to face at Takeover. He wants to face Tyson Kidd . . . Tyler Breeze . . . and Sami Zayn. He will face all of them at the same time. He wants to know what William Regal has to say. William says that he was not thinking of that, but on September 11th, Adrian Neville will face Tyson Kidd, Tyler Breeze, and Sami Zayn in a Fatal Four Way for the NXT Championship. We go to commercial. We are back and William Regal is in the interview area and he reminds everyone about his announcement about the Fatal Four Way Match. Sometimes great ideas are put on your doorstep. There will be a tag team match in the main event. Tyler Breeze and Tyson Kidd will face Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville. Match Number Two: Sasha Banks versus Bayley Sasha pie faces and slaps Bayley and Bayley runs Sasha into the corner and connects with a shoulder. Bayley is sent to the apron and Sasha sends Bayley into the ring post. Sasha gets a near fall. Sasha sends Bayley into the turnbuckles. Sasha puts Bayley in the turnbuckles and then hits a double stomp to the midsection. Bayley is put on the bottom rope and Sasha with a double stomp for a near fall. Sasha with a cross arm choke on Bayley. Sasha pulls Bayley to the mat and then Sasha with forearms and punches. Sasha slams Bayley’s head into the mat for a near fall. Bayley with shots to the midsection and Sasha chokes Bayley in the corner. Sasha slaps Bayley and stomps on Bayley’s back. Sasha stands on Bayley’s head and gets a near fall. Bayley with a forearm and belly-to-belly suplex for the three count. Winner: Bayley After the match, Renee interviews Bayley and asks her what it would mean to be the Women’s Champion. Bayley says that she is prepared for it. She is going to hang in there and she will train and prepare to turn this dream into reality so she can become the new NXT Women’s Champion. Charlotte makes her way to the ring. Charlotte woooos before speaking and she tells Bayley to look at the tears in your eyes. It is a huge responsibility and honor to be the Women’s Champion. She says that Bayley is too nice. Charlotte says that if she saw a cat in a tree, she would knock it out of the tree. She tells Bayley to give up before she embarrasses herself. Bayley tells Charlotte to look at her. She says that Charlotte is not taking her as a threat, but she will win the title. Charlotte tells Bayley to stick to hugs before she destroys Bayley. Bayley says that she is not going anywhere and she does not want a hug. She wants to wish Charlotte luck and she offers her hand, but Charlotte refuses and leaves the ring. Charlotte tells Bayley that she warned her. Bull Dempsey tells Mojo this ain’t a game it is real life. Mojo is all hype. When he faces the Wrecking Ball, he won’t need a doctor, he will need a priest. The last thing Mojo will hear is ‘BULL’. Match Number Three: Bull Dempsey versus Angelo Dawkins They lock up and Dempsey with forearms and he punches Dawkins in the ribs. Dempsey with back elbows in the corner but Dawkins with a kick. Dawkins goes for a sunset flip and Dempsey drops down and gets a near fall. Dempsey with a series of elbow drops for a near fall. Dempsey with a knee lift to the face followed by a knee drop. Dempsey kicks Dawkins around the ring and then he chokes him in the ropes. Dawkins with a punch but Dempsey with a forearm to the back. Dempsey with a choke and the referee warns him. Dawkins with elbows but Dempsey with a rake of the eyes followed by a kick to the head. Dempsey with an elbow to the back followed by a cross face. Dempsey with a knee to the ribs followed by punches. Dawkins with jabs and he goes for a cross body but Dempsey catches Dawkins and hits the Bulldozer for the three count. Winner: Bull Dempsey Sylvester Lefort and Marcus Louis are in the interview area and Sylvester cannot believe that Enzo wants to face him in a hair match. Marcus says that they accept the match. Sylvester tells Marcus to slow down a bit and then they speak in French as we go to commercial. Match Number Four: Sami Zayn and Adrian Neville versus Tyson Kidd and Tyler Breeze Breeze and Neville start things off and they lock up. Neville backs Breeze into the corner and Breeze with a wrist lock. Neville with a reversal and he takes Breeze to the mat. Neville with an arm bar and Zayn tags in. Zayn with a front face lock and he tags in Neville. Neville with forearms to the back and he tags Zayn back in. Zayn with a double stomp to the back and he gets a near fall. Zayn with a front face lock into a wrist lock and arm bar. Zayn with a reverse atomic drop and he clotheslines Breeze over the top rope. Kidd goes after Zayn and then Zayn with a slam and then Neville tags in and hits a corkscrew moonsault off Zayn’s back and Kidd goes to the floor. Neville goes to the floor and he brings Breeze in. Neville with a knee drop and he gets a near fall. Neville is run into the corner by Breeze and Kidd tags in and he kicks Neville. Kidd with an elbow to the back of the head. Kidd sends Neville to the apron and Kidd blocks an enzuigiri and Kidd with an enzuigiri. The referee deals with Kidd and Breeze with a super kick on the apron and Kidd gets a near fall. Kidd with a snap mare and kick to the back as we go to commercial. We are back and Breeze sends Neville into the turnbuckles. Breeze puts Breeze in the tree of woe and Kidd tags in. Kidd with knees and a drop kick. Kidd gets a near fall. Kidd with a reverse chin lock into a rear chin lock. Neville with a belly-to-back suplex to get out of the hold. Breeze tags in and he keeps Neville from making the tag. Breeze with a boot to the chest and he gets a near fall. Breeze gets another near fall. Breeze with an elbow to the top of the head and he gets a near fall. Breeze with a front face lock on Neville. Neville gets back to his feet but Breeze backs Neville into his corner and Kidd tags in. Kidd with a kick to the back followed by kicks to the chest and he chokes Neville. Kidd with an Irish whip but Neville with a drop kick to the knees and Kidd falls into the turnbuckles. Zayn tags in and he hits clotheslines followed by a drop kick. Zayn brings Breeze in and Zayn with an elbow to Kidd followed by a cross body to Kidd and Breeze. Zayn with a Michinoku Driver for a near fall. Zayn goes for the Blue Thunder Bomb but Kidd with elbows followed by a neck breaker for a near fall. Breeze tags in while Zayn goes to the wrong corner. Zayn stops Breeze in the corner and Zayn hits an Exploder into the turnbuckles and both men are down. Zayn crawls to his corner and he tags in Neville. Neville with a springboard drop kick followed by a running shooting star press for a near fall. Kidd sends Zayn to the floor and then he punches Neville. Neville kicks Breeze and then he sends Kidd to the apron. Neville with a near fall on a rollup followed by a round kick to the head. Neville goes up top but Breeze recovers and crotches Neville. Zayn goes for the Helluva Kick on Breeze, but Tyler moves and Zayn hits Neville. Neville falls to the mat and Zayn is in shock. Kidd makes the tag and Breeze and Kidd argue. Zayn hits the Blue Thunder Bomb on Breeze and Kidd sends Zayn to the floor to get the pin on Neville. Winners: Tyson Kidd and Tyler Breeze After the match, Zayn hits a Helluva Kick on Tyson Kidd. Zayn stands over the other three men who are still down in the ring. Zayn looks at the NXT Title belt and he picks it up. Zayn holds the title belt in his hands and he looks at Breeze, Kidd, and Neville. Zayn drops to his knees as we go to credits. (Source: PWInsider) WWE RAW Results Rusev vs Jack Swagger Rusev starts on the offensive, but Swagger tries to fight back right away. Swagger hits an elbow, and then locks in the Patriot Lock. Rusev crawls to the outside, and then takes a breather. Rusev then begins to take a beating on the outside by Swagger. Swagger and Rusev get in the ring, and Swagger begins to take down Rusev with knees to the midsection. Rusev however gets back in it, throwing Swagger to the outside. We go to commercial break. We return with Rusev in control. Rusev hits a spinning heel kick, and is in firm control. Swagger however fights back and begins his comeback. Swagger then locks in the Patriot Lock! Rusev however crawls under the bottom rope and then falls to the outside. Rusev gets back in the ring and takes Swagger down to his knees. Rusev then begins to work the midsection. Rusev continues his relentless assault on Swagger, and the referee stops the match via referee decision. Winner: Rusev We return with Swagger getting checked on backstage. Bo comes in and tries to give him a pep talk. Swagger looks on in frustration. Cesaro vs Rob Van Dam – #1 Contender’s Match for the United States Championship Cesaro starts off with an uppercut. RVD however comes back with a leg sweep, and then follows it with the Rolling Thunder. Cesaro kicks out at 2, and then gets up and fights back with a couple of uppercuts. Cesaro then hits a double footstomp. Cesaro then puts RVD in a headlock. RVD fights out and takes him down. RVD then hits a split legged moonsault for a 2 count. RVD then goes for the 5 star frog splash, but Cesaro rolls to the outside. Cesaro then knocks RVD down and then picks him up and hits the Neutralizer. Cesaro makes the cover for the 3 count. Winner: Cesaro Natalya vs Paige Natalya starts off with a roll up, but Paige kicks out right away. Paige then knocks Natalya down, and then begins to skip. Paige then puts in an abdominal stretch. Paige lets it go and then hits a kick to the face. Natalya however gets up and begins her come back. Natalya then locks in the Sharpshooter, but Paige gets to the ropes. Paige then hits the Paige Turner for the 3 count. Winner: Paige AJ comes out and distracts Paige, and then Natalya takes her out. AJ gets in the ring and then helps Paige up. AJ says that she knows Paige was sincere, but she is more sincere about how much she loves her. AJ then hugs Paige, and then kisses her hand. AJ skips away as Paige looks on in confusion. We go to commercial break. We return with Kane making his way to the ring for the “Eulogy of Dean Ambrose”. Out comes Seth Rollins. Rollins says he was the leader of the most dominant group in WWE history. He says there was a reason he chose Ambrose to be a part of the Shield. He says he had to do what he did to Ambrose because he needed to prove that the Authority always wins. We are then show a replay of the attack on Ambrose last week. Rollins says he wonders what was going through Ambrose’s head before he crushed his face. He says the cinder blocks being out there wasn’t an accident, but neither is the headache he will have for the rest of his life. Rollins then wonders what would of happened if Ambrose understood his place. Rollins says we will never see Ambrose again, and that he is the one who destroyed the Shield. Out comes Roman Reigns! Reigns takes out Kane and then goes after Rollins! Reigns goes for the spear, but Kane pulls out Rollins. Reigns stands tall as Rollins and Kane escape. We get a backstage segment with Goldust and Stardust. WWE Tag Team Championship – The Usos vs Goldust and Stardust Stardust and Jimmy Uso start the match off. Stardust gets backed in the corner, and the Usos try to wear him down. Stardust fights back, and begins to work the arm. Stardust throws Jimmy to the outside, and then both brothers take the Usos out! Stardust is in control as we go to commercial break. We return with Stardust in control over Jimmy. Jimmy fights back, but Goldust is tagged in and stops the comeback from happening. Goldust and Jimmy both go for a cross body and they take each other out. Jey and Stardust are tagged in and Jey begins his comeback. Jey hurts his knee on the outside, and gets counted out. Winners (by DQ): Goldust and Stardust Goldust and Stardust say they got counted out on purpose, and then they attack the Usos! Goldust and Stardust work on the injured leg of Jey, and then stand tall over the champions. We go backstage with Rollins and Kane. Rollins says they need to finish Reigns and Kane makes a handicap match for tonight. Reigns will face both of them. We get a video package hyping Brock Lesnar. Dolph Ziggler vs Damien Mizdow The Miz comes out and begins to talk about his perks on being a movie star. He then says one great perk is having stunt doubles. He then says tonight Dolph will fight Damien Mizdow. The match starts with Sandow taking down Ziggler. Sandow then hits a suplex for a 2 count. Dolph however gets back in it and begins his comeback. Dolph then gets taken down and Damien puts him in the figure four! Ziggler however gets out and then hits the Zig Zag for the 3 count. Winner: Dolph Ziggler We return with Jerry Lawler in the middle of the ring. Jerry then introduces Nikki Bella. Brie is then introduced. Brie says that this is about Nikki stabbing her in the back. Brie says that she knows what she did to Nikki and that she is deeply sorry. Nikki says that she is lying and that she knows what she really thinks of her. She says Brie just wants the spotlight, and that she is holding Nikki back. She says she is done with Brie and everyone in the audience. She says Brie abandoned her, and that she cared more about trending then being with her. Nikki say she has no sister, and then begins to beat her down. Nikki is held back as she leaves with her sister crying in the ring. Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins and Kane Reigns and Kane start the match, and Kane is thrown out immediately. Rollins is then thrown in and Reigns begins to work on Rollins. Kane gets back in and keeps Reigns away. Rollins is tagged in, and then hits a running body splash. Kane is tagged in and Reigns begins his comeback! Reigns then hits the spear, but Rollins takes out Reigns with the briefcase. Winner (by DQ): Roman Reigns Rollins and Kane continue the attack on Reigns, and then reveal the cinder blocks! Reigns however begins to fight back! Reigns then grabs the cinder blocks and corners Rollins! Reigns throws the cinder block at Rollins but Rollins gets out of the way and escapes. We go backstage with Bray. Bray says Cena is a shell of a man. He says Cena is a wounded man, and that he wont let him suffer anymore. He will put him out of his misery tonight, and put him down. He says for Cena not to worry, as it is so much nicer on the other side. Los Matadores vs Slater Gator Slater and Diego start the match off. Slater gets taken down with a cross body. Fernando is tagged in and Slater begins to fight back. Slater is then taken down with a hurricanrana. Diego is tagged in and hits a dropkick. Diego hits a chop, but Slater comes back with a high kick.Titus is then tagged in. Titus hits three backbreakers, and then Heath is tagged in. Heath ends up getting caught with a backslide for a 3 count. Winners: Los Matadores Bo Dallas vs Kofi Kingston Kofi starts the match in control, but Bo fights back with a knee to the gut. Kofi keeps the assault going until Bo drops Kofi off the turnbuckle. Bo then hits the Bo Dog for the 3 count. Winner: Bo Dallas Swagger comes out and takes out Bo after the match. Bray vs Cena is up next. Bray Wyatt vs John Cena Cena starts the match off with a wicked clothesline, knocking Bray down. Cena then hits a German Suplex. Bray gets up and then hits a back suplex. Bray gets up one more time and Cena floors him with a clothesline. Cena then lifts Bray and hits him with a fisherman suplex. Bray tries to get up but Cena continues to beat him down. Cena continues with another German Suplex. Cena then delivers another vicious clothesline. Bray tries to fight back, but Cena takes him down again. The Wyatts then come in and take out Cena. Winner (by DQ): John Cena Big Show and Henry then come in to make the save. We go to commercial with a brawl going on. Big Show, Mark Henry, and John Cena vs The Wyatt Family We return with a six man tag. Big Show is in control over Rowan. Henry is tagged in and continues the assault. Rowan however fights back with a clothesline. Bray is then tagged in. Bray pummels Henry and then tags in Harper. Harper puts Henry in a headlock. Rowan is tagged in and hits a body slam on Henry. Harper is tagged in and hits a running elbow. Henry however fights back and tags in Big Show. Big Show begins his comeback until he is taken out with a dropkick. Rowan is tagged in and hits a big boot, and then tags in Bray. Bray then hits a big splash. Rowan is tagged back in, and then hits a splash. Harper is tagged in and hits a super kick for a 2 count. Bray is tagged back in, but is taken down with a chokeslam by Show. Cena is then tagged in, as is Harper. Cena takes out Harper and locks in the STF, giving him the win. Winners: Big Show, Mark Henry, and John Cena Cena AA’s both Rowan and Bray after the match, and then hits an AA on an already fallen Harper. Cena stands tall as Raw concludes.
